Dr. Christopher Galea practices full scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Galea is also the regions only fellowship trained in Pediatric Cleft and Craniofacial Surgery.
Dr. Galea graduated from the University of Arizona with dual degrees in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Physiological Sciences. He attended dental school at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. He obtained his medical degree and completed an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Louisville. Dr. Galea received extensive training in maxillofacial trauma while working at the University of Louisville Hospital, a major regional Level I trauma center. He also developed his skills in orthognathic surgery (jaw surgery) to treat dentofacial deformities.
During his surgical residency, Dr. Galea was fortunate for the opportunity treat children born with cleft lips and palates in different parts of the world. Dr. Galea developed such a passion for treating cleft patients that upon completing residency he moved to Louisiana to complete a two year fellowship in Craniofacial and Cleft Surgery at Louisiana State University – Shreveport Health Sciences Center.
He is now happily settled in Reno with his wife and two dogs. He looks forward to the opportunity to utilize his extensive training by serving the patients of Northern Nevada.
